The first edition of the CP3P – Foundation course in Washington DC has concluded

We are proud to share that 15 delegates from public and private sectors have attended the first edition of the Certified PPP Professional (CP3P) – Foundation course in Washington DC. Among them, professionals from The World Bank Group or the US Department of Commerce.

During the course, both the trainer and candidates of the course enjoyed a tour of Airbus’ facilities. The course has been held at the Airbus Experience Center in Washington DC, thanks to our partnership with the Embassy of Spain in the United States and the Airbus Group.

All professionals that have taken the exam have passed it. Others will take the online version of the exam in a later date.

The CP3P – Foundation Course in Washington DC will provide you with essential knowledge of PPPs as a method of developing and managing infrastructure, their main characteristics, and the steps in the PPP Process described in the Guide. The Foundation level’s main objective is to demonstrate knowledge of PPPs as described in the PPP Guide, the body of knowledge on which the Certified PPP Program is based.

This course is of special value to all professionals in the Public-Private Partnerships area: representatives of the public sector, private sector professionals, consultants and advisors, and multilateral agencies.

K-infra is thrilled to announce the incorporation of PPP expert Borja Rubio as a CP3P Accredited Trainer.

Borja has developed his career in the business development field in the PPP market for companies such as Puertos del Estado, Prointec, Indra, Talgo and Everis, among others.

With nearly 20 years of professional practice in the PPP field, he has developed projects in the following sectors: transportation, infrastructure, defense, technology, water and energy.

Borja will especially collaborate with K-infra in the delivery of trainings in Spain. He will also support training in other geographic areas. Taking into account his extensive experience managing strategy, tender processes and PPP contracts globally for several private companies, we expect him to play an important part in delivering training to the private sector, which K-infra believes is a sure bet.

He currently serves as an independent advisor. Borja is also partner at K-infra.

Marcel van den Broek new CP3P Accredited Trainer at K-infra

K-Infra is pleased to announce the incorporation of a Marcel Van den Broek as a new CP3P – F Accredited Trainer.

Marcel is a seasoned PPP practitioner with 25 years of working experience. He started his career in PPP as founder and director of the PPP unit of the Ministry of Transport in the Netherlands. After a short period with PwC he became director of PPP advisory services for the renowned consulting firm Ecorys. He has been involved in over 100 projects in some 40 countries primarily Europe, Asia and Africa. His experiences include supporting the development of PPP Frameworks, numerous Feasibility Studies, Transaction Advisory and Training. He has designed and delivered PPP trainings in 15 countries all evaluated as outstanding. Marcel is one of the founding fathers of the CP3P initiative being responsible for the initial scoping study in 2010.

Some of the most relevant projects in which he has acted as lead PPP advisor includes the Nairobi – Nakuru Road PPP (Kenya), Isaka – Kigali Railway PPP (Tanzania – Rwanda), Accra – Takoradi Road PPP (Ghana), Kantienberg Student Housing PPP (Belgium). He has also supported the PPP units in Nigeria, Kyrgyzstan, Bangladesh, Jordan and Poland in their development of national PPP frameworks and programs.

Marcel will support K-Infra´s activities and CP3P training delivery in Europe (especially Eastern Europe), Asia (especially East Asia) and Africa, where we expect him to play an strategic role to increase K-Infra presence in SSA subregion.
